Tom Hiddleston to Narrate AppleTV Docuseries

Tom will narrate a documentary series along with Paul Rudd and Olivia Coleman. The document series will be focused on humanity and the natural world. More details below!

Apple TV+ has rounded up yet another group of megastars to narrate their slate of documentaries premiering this fall. The streaming service announced they tapped the talents of Olivia Colman, Tom Hiddleston and Paul Rudd for several documentary series, which “celebrate humanity and the natural world.”

The first of the series to come out will be “Tiny World,” narrated by Paul Rudd. It gives a lens to some of the tiniest creatures roaming the earth and shows how they find ingenious ways to survive. The first six episodes of “Tiny World” are slated to premiere on Oct. 2.

Colman will helm “Becoming You,” “a global child development series that looks into how the first 2,000 days on earth shape the rest of our lives.” The series takes a look at children from across the globe — covering countries such as Nepal, Japan and Borneo — and explores how our first days on earth may differ, but leaves the human race connected nonetheless. The fix six episodes of this series will debut Nov. 13.

Lastly, December 4 sees the premiere of “Earth at Night in Color,” narrated by Tom Hiddleston. The natural history series “uses next-generation cameras to reveal the nocturnal lives of animals, in color, for the first time ever.” The series was shot on six continents and covers animals from the Arctic Circle to the African grasslands.

Just yesterday, news came out that Apple plans on incorporating augmented-reality content. Parts of a TV show, or certain characters, would be shown on a viewer’s phone or tablet, then integrated into the surrounding environment, reported Bloomberg.

The AR feature is expected to launch in 2021, according to sources, though Apple hasn’t made any specific dates official. This TV+ enhancement would provide Apple with more content to offer on future program line-ups. Such bonus options are perceived as enriching the streamer’s service.

Interview With The Guardian on Coriolanus

With the live stream of Coriolanus just a day ahead, Tom did an interview with The Guardian! You can read the full interview at the link provided below!

Coriolanus is a play that’s more respected than revered. Why does it have a rather difficult reputation?

Coriolanus is relentless, brutal, savage and serious, but that’s why I find it interesting. Shakespeare sets the play in ancient Rome: a far older place than the Rome more familiar to us – of Julius Caesar or Antony and Cleopatra or the later Empire. This Rome is wild. A city-state wrestling with its identity. An early Rome of famine, war and tyranny.

In the central character, Caius Martius Coriolanus, Shakespeare shows how the power of unchecked rage corrodes, dehumanises and ultimately destroys its subject. I’ve read that some find Martius a hard character to like, or to relate to – less effective at evoking an audience’s sympathy than Hamlet, Romeo, Juliet, Rosalind, Othello or Lear. Yet there is a perverse integrity and purity to be found in his obstinacy and honour, which sits alongside his arrogance and contempt.

The play’s poetry is raw and visceral, quite different from the elegance, beauty, clarity and charm found elsewhere in Shakespeare’s work. The warmth and delight to be found in his comedies are absent here. But the unstinting seriousness and intensity of the play is what makes it fascinating….

Will Loki TV Series Have a Second Season?

A recent interview with Clark Gregg done with Variety has rumors swirling about a possible second season for Loki the television series! See below for article!

We already know that the first season of Loki, currently due sometime in 2021, is going to be six episodes much like the other Marvel Studios limited series on Disney+. There has been some speculation that Loki could be a multi-season show, but nothing completely official yet. Until now.

Variety has an interview with Clark Gregg about the final season of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., which starts this Wednesday on ABC, and he had this to say about Loki from what Tom Hiddleston told him: “But I’d be lying if I didn’t say boy, that would really be interesting to start the experiment over, doing 10 episodes or 12 episodes the way Tom Hiddleston told me he was doing [on “Loki”] with that kind of budget and that Marvel Cinematic production team.”
